— ABOUT PATTI MATOS
I build businesses. Then I build the software they actually needed.
Not advice. Not a framework. The actual tools, tested inside my own business first, before anyone else ever sees them.
— THE HUMAN EYE
I did not choose Psychology. Psychology chose me
I was 23 years old, sitting in on university classes I was not enrolled in, watching students discuss human behaviour, and finding myself joining the conversation before I had even signed up.
That was the moment I knew.
I enrolled immediately. And when I discovered organisational psychology, the study of why people do what they do inside businesses, under pressure, within systems, it was love at first sight.
I spent years in that world. Internships. HR roles. Training programs. Coaching leaders. Studying why intelligent, capable people would shut down under the wrong leadership, and what it took to help them open back up.
I was good at it. And I loved it. But I had a problem.
I was working with international teams at Faber-Castell and going nowhere, not because of my skills, but because I did not speak English. And in Brazil, if you want to grow, English is not optional.
So I made a decision that changed everything.
I left.

The academic background gave me the language. The business experience gave me the proof.
— THE JOB THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Three weeks after arriving in Australia, I was cleaning construction sites.
In Brazil they have a word for that kind of work. Subemprego. Literally, a job for unsuccessful people, they say.
I did not feel unsuccessful.
I felt free.
For the first time in my life I was somewhere nobody knew who I had been. Nobody knew my credentials or my career or what I was supposed to be. I was just a person, learning a language, learning a culture, learning what I was actually made of when everything familiar was taken away.
It was hard. Not having the words made me feel invisible sometimes. People would look at you like you were less than you were. And I had to decide, every single day, whether I believed them or believed myself.
I chose myself. Every time.
I extended my visa. Then extended it again. Then realised I did not want to go back.
I had found another version of myself in Australia. And I was not ready to give her up.
So I stayed. I studied. I worked, retail, cleaning, whatever it took, while completing my MBA. Building something slowly. Becoming someone quietly.
And carrying, the whole time, this feeling I could not shake.
That I was meant to build something of my own.
I came to Australia to learn English. I left that chapter knowing something more valuable, that I could start from nothing and still become exactly who I was supposed to be.
— THE BUSINESSES MINDSET
Entrepreneurship was always in my veins.
But fear was always one step ahead of it.
Fear that my English was not good enough. Fear that I was not ready. Fear that the gap between where I was and where I wanted to be was too wide to cross.
I know now that fear had a name.
Impostor syndrome.
The belief, deeply held and completely false, that you are not as capable as the evidence says you are.
I also know now that the antidote to impostor syndrome is not confidence.
It is action. Taken while still afraid.
So I started.
A handmade children’s clothing business. Built from nothing. Taught myself SEO, web development, paid advertising, accounting, and operations, because I could not afford to hire anyone and I refused to stay ignorant about my own business.
I got the website to page one of Google across five product categories in Adelaide.
And then I burned out.
Not from overwork. From working in the wrong direction for too long, without anyone to help me see it clearly.
I was so deep inside the business that I had lost sight of why I started it.
I had a six month old daughter. I wanted time with her. I wanted income that did not require me to give my best hours to someone else.
Instead I was working Monday to Saturday, nine to five in the shop, then going home, making dinner, and working again until midnight. My daughter sat in the corner of the shop on the days I had no choice but to bring her. She wanted attention I could not give.
I was living the exact opposite of the life I had meant to build.
When I finally saw that clearly, the decision made itself.
I closed the business.
Two weeks later everything was packed. And for the first time in years, I could breathe.
Operators run businesses. Owners build lives. The difference is clarity.
— THE TOOL THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING
You
The solo business owner who started with a vision and ended up buried in admin they never signed up for.
Who’s brilliant at the actual work, and has never had software that understood what their business needed without being told, step by step, every time.
That’s what I build for.
I bring together three things that rarely exist in the same person.
A bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a specialisation in Organisational Psychology, formally recognised in Australia. A Master’s in People Management. An MBA.
A decade of real business experience — building, failing, learning, rebuilding, and finally creating something that works.
And AI, not as a content tool, but as the thinking partner I couldn’t afford when I needed one most — available every single day, building alongside me.
I use all three to do something deceptively simple: build the software solo business owners actually need, instead of more advice telling them what they already know.
I am not a therapist. I am not a consultant. I am not a coach selling a program.
I am the person who builds the thing — tested first inside my own business, before it’s handed to anyone else.
